Traditional Thai massage generally takes place on a floor mat making it easier for you to lie on your back, front or side. This allows your therapist to access a greater range of angles around and above your body to effectively target all areas to be massaged. Western massage styles use hands, forearms, elbows and fists to apply pressure. In addition, a Thai massage therapist will use feet and legs to provide leverage for deeper stretching of the client's arms, legs, back and shoulders.
Thai Oil or Deep Tissue massage takes place on a massage bed or table using similar techniques to the Traditional Thai massage but with the application of heated oils.
